initiate a planned gift

Instead of outright gifts, many of our donors choose to contribute through planned gifts — such as naming Seton Hall in their will or living trust or designating the University as a beneficiary of a life insurance plan, retirement plan or IRA. Some planned gifts, like charitable annuities or trusts, enable you to support our campaign while also generating income later in life. When you are ready, we can help you create a philanthropic strategy that is tailored to meet your financial needs.

Why It Matters

Making a difference - stories of contributions and impact

Meghan Murphy

"Stanton was super inspiring and obviously left his mark. Thanks to the scholarship, I finished grad school debt-free. He gave me this gift of having no debt, and I'd love to be able to help someone out like that down the line."

Meghan Murphy '22/M.P.A '23

A legacy that lives on for generations

Meghan Murphy '22/M.P.A '23 comes from a long line of Seton Hall graduates, including her mother and great-grandfather. She continued her family's legacy when she enrolled in the School of Arts and Sciences as a sociology major and eventually enrolled in our Master of Public Administration program. Murphy was a recipient of a Thomas J. Stanton Scholarship, which — along with the tuition coverage from her graduate assistantship — allowed her to graduate debt-free.

Emily Guerrero

"As nurses, we are servant leaders. So much of what I do now is closely connected to what I learned at Seton Hall."

Emily Guerrero '24

Paying it forward as a servant leader

Emily Guerrero is a Gleason scholarship recipient who was inspired to become a NICU nurse after spending much of her own teenage years in hospitals and doctors' offices. Of all the programs she applied to, Guerrero was drawn to Seton Hall's mission of servant leadership — something she strongly identifies with as a nurse. She's currently enrolled in Seton Hall's dual degree program for a master's in nursing and a doctorate in nursing practice, with a goal of one day returning to the college to teach.
