Seton Hall Law Proud
Michael Kibler B.A.'92, J.D.'97, Managing Partner at Kibler Fowler & Cave LLP, a Los Angeles-based commercial trial and litigation boutique law firm, is well known as a highly regarded business trial lawyer. "My career has taken me to places and given me both professional and personal experiences that I never dreamed were possible and that career was built on a strong foundation at Seton Hall Law," he said.
A double Pirate, Mike is no stranger to servant leadership. The core principles he learned as a student helped to prepare him to be the leader he is today - making a difference in the world. Mike is a long-standing supporter of the Law School and our students, most recently making a personal plea for alumni support on #SetonHallGivingDay. But Mike's service to others doesn't end with Seton Hall Law. Mike sits on the board of the BSA Western Los Angeles County Council Scout Executive Board, serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster, and coaches baseball in the Beverly Hills Little League.
Most notably, he is proudly serving as Vice Board Chair and Executive Committee Member for Covenant House California (CHC) and will assume the role of Board Chair on July 1 this year. CHC serves homeless and trafficked youth throughout California providing shelter, sanctuary and support. According to its website, 1/3 of all young people experiencing homelessness in American are in California and yet less than 3% of all shelter beds there are designated for young people.
2021 marked Mike's 9th year serving on the Board and participating in the Executive Sleep Out, an event where local business leaders give up their beds for one night and sleep on the street to shine a light on the youth homelessness crisis and raise critical funds.
In a LinkedIn post by CHC, Mike shared, "We all see the homeless crisis in Los Angeles every day first-hand when we leave our homes to go to work or school or just to go about our busy lives. I sleep out because doing so is a positive act that makes a meaningful impact to end the crisis by raising both awareness and money. Every dollar raised will directly be used to move homeless youth off the street and into a safe environment where they can start the journey towards leading productive lives."
A Seton Hall supporter since graduation, Mike and his firm answered the call at the beginning of the pandemic to support the Dean's Emergency Assistance Fund. The Fund allows struggling law students to find the resources for basic necessities in acute times of hardship.
Mike epitomizes what it means to be a Seton Hall Lawyer. He embodies loyalty, exemplifies engagement and personifies integrity in his daily life.
