Catherine I. R. Pontoriero is Of Counsel at Nukk-Freeman & Cerra, a firm dedicated to representing employers in employment law matters. Catherine’s practice focuses on counseling clients on a broad spectrum of employment issues, including hiring, performance management, terminations and separation agreements, employment policies and handbooks, changes in employment laws, leaves of absence, accommodations, and discrimination and harassment. Additionally, she conducts internal investigations of employee claims and advises clients on best practices relating to workplace investigations.

Catherine relies on her background in employment litigation in counseling clients. Previously, Catherine worked at Proskauer and McElroy, Deutsch. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joel A. Pisano in the United States District Court, District of New Jersey and the Honorable Clarkson S. Fisher Jr., in the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division.

Catherine was a Distinguished Scholar at Seton Hall Law and a recipient of the Joseph P. Lordi Memorial Scholarship and the Rodino Scholarship. While in law school, Catherine was the Managing Editor of the Seton Hall Circuit Review, participated in the Immigrant Workers' Rights Clinic, where she obtained political asylum for her client, and was co-president of the Rodino Society. She also interned at the United States Attorney's Office, District of New Jersey. Catherine received her B.A. magna cum laude from Georgetown University where she majored in government and minored in Italian and in theology.

Catherine is married to fellow Seton Hall Law alumnus, Joseph Fischetti.
