Amy is a proud New Jersey native and a lifetime Bergen County resident. In her free time, she is an outdoor enthusiast, a competitive runner, and a speaker at her undergraduate alma mater.

Amy Shotmeyer defends public entities and agencies throughout the State of New Jersey, including municipalities, boards of education, municipal utilities authorities and housing authorities, in Title 59 liability matters. Over the years of defending clients in diverse and complex liability matters, Amy has become well-versed in Title 59 defenses and immunities. As a member of DeCotiis’ Litigation Group, Amy has also developed extensive experience in defending public clients in employment and civil rights lawsuits – in particular, suits involving §1983 federal and State civil rights claims and claims under New Jersey’s Conscientious Employee Protection Act and Law Against Discrimination. She has achieved a proven record of success in defending her clients’ interests.

Amy received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Science and Science/Technical Writing from Lehigh University in 2005, where she graduated with Highest Honors. While at Lehigh, she was awarded membership into the distinguished Phi Beta Kappa Society. Amy received her Juris Doctor from Seton Hall Law School in 2010. While attending law school, she interned for the Honorable Claire Cecchi of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey in Newark.
