With approximately 800 graduate students—the largest graduate enrollment of any school or college at Seton Hall—CHDCM must provide larger stipends to its graduate teaching and research assistants. Increased support will help attract high-quality candidates, draw a more diverse applicant pool and allow Seton Hall to compete with leading graduate programs offering stipends five to six times higher. Greater graduate assistantship support will also enable students to focus more fully on their academic and research work, advancing scholarship in critical fields while preparing them for successful careers.

Launched in 2021 with a founding gift from renowned sports journalist Bob Ley ’76, the Center for Sports Media is redefining how students are prepared to enter the multi-billion-dollar sports media industry. 

Students already benefit from exceptional experiential learning opportunities, including serving as credentialed journalists at major sporting events, securing exclusive internships with ESPN and learning directly from industry professionals. To sustain and expand upon these opportunities, the Center requires continued investment. Endowment support will fund experiential learning opportunities, support student travel and strengthen the industry partnerships that distinguish the Center on a national level. 

The Center is also seeking to endow the executive directorship, ensuring sustained leadership and long-term vision for the Center’s continued growth and success.

WSOU, Seton Hall’s student-run radio station, has been a cornerstone of the University since 1948. By providing unparalleled hands-on experience in broadcasting, journalism and production, WSOU prepares students for internships and careers in broadcast media while serving as a powerful platform for telling the Seton Hall story. 

Increased philanthropic support will allow WSOU to expand programming, upgrade technology and broaden experiential learning opportunities for students.
