Giving back to the places that helped along the way.

Harold and Jacqueline D'Alessio started their life together when Jacqueline was a senior in high school and Harold was a freshman at Seton Hall. Married for more than 50 years and now retired, Harold and Jaqueline are true servant leaders. They are dedicated volunteers at their home parishes in Raritan, N.J. and Bradenton, Fla. When they aren't travelling, they are loyal to many charities, including the Knights of Columbus, American Association of University Women and Jacqueline's high school, Mount St. Mary's

Harold graduated from Seton Hall with a B.S. in business in 1963 and returned to complete his master of arts in education in 1969. Jacqueline, who obtained her B.A. from the College of New Rochelle, graduated from Seton Hall with her M.A. in English in 1969. Thankful for their educations, Harold spent a successful career in banking at the Raritan Savings Bank and Jacqueline was a lifelong middle school language arts teacher in the Bridgewater/Raritan School District.

“We believe it is important to give back to the places that helped you along the way,” said Harold. “That is why we decided to include Seton Hall among the 10 charities in our will.”

Harold and Jacqueline designated Seton Hall as a beneficiaries in their will some time ago, but only recently made the University aware of their plans. Working with Seton Hall Gift Officer Nora Nasif Rahaim, they tailored their general bequest to be more meaningful to them. As a dedicated educator, Jacqueline was interested in scholarships, and reflecting the impact their faith has had on their lives, Harold wanted to support the seminary. Together their gifts will support students and seminarians and provide a D'Alessio legacy at Seton Hall for years to come.
