The Nicholas R. Scalera '63 Scholarship Fund
The Nicholas R. Scalera '63 Scholarship Fund, established at Seton Hall in 2007 by alumnus Nick Scalera, provides a path to a quality college education through annual scholarship support for at-risk students. Eligible students must be academically capable and also have substantial financial and social needs.
This scholarship was born of a noble purpose and Scalera's desire “to offer deserving students of modest means the same opportunity I had to earn a college degree at a quality institution.” The annual scholarships, augmented with special contributions from Scalera's friends, like you, are the first steps in what will be an endowment created by his estate.
Applicants for the scholarship must be residents of Essex County, N.J., and qualify for the University's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP). Since EOP covers only a portion of the cost of attending college, the Fund provides the supplemental support that makes it possible for Scalera Scholars to pursue their degrees.
