Paul Tyahla '03/M.B.A. '23, President
Paul Tyahla is Executive Vice President of Issues and Crisis Management at Syneos
Health Communications, where he works with life science companies to manage business and reputational challenges.
During his career, Paul has helped companies establish crisis communication protocols, manage stakeholder-specific
issues, and navigate some of the most high-profile communications crises of the last
15 years. Previously, Paul worked on behalf of state trade associations and on legislative
and Congressional elections.
Paul graduated from Seton Hall in 2003 with a B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy and is completing his MBA at the Stillman School of Business in 2023. He and his wife Shannon, MA '17, were married in Seton Hall's Chapel of the Immaculate Conception and live in Cranford, NJ with their three children and rescue dog Setty.
Juan Sebastian Agudelo '07, Vice President
Agudelo is currently a director at Bridge Investment Group which is a $50 billion
alternatives investment manager. In his day-to-day, he helps to safeguard the capital
of pensioners globally, connecting with thought leaders and leadership at pension
plans, sovereign wealth funds, governments, and consultants around the world. He works
to inform these organizations about the investment opportunities available through
Bridge. Agudelo's role requires a significant amount of travel, primarily throughout
the Americas including Latin America, as he works to educate these potential investors,
learn about local markets and pension programs, and build relationships.
Juan earned a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from Seton Hall University. He also earned a master of business administration with a concentration in real estate and finance from Columbia Business School.
Shahria Boston '04
Shahria H. Boston Kidd, Esq. is a seasoned attorney with extensive real estate and
litigation experience. Attorney Boston operates a full-service law firm that delivers
high-quality legal representation to individuals and businesses. Attorney Boston specializes
in real estate conveyancing and contracts, landlord-tenant litigation, employment
law and personal injury. She practices in both state and federal court across the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Attorney Boston received her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University in 2004 and received her Juris Doctor from Northeastern
University School of Law in 2007. Attorney Boston is a member of the Seton Hall University
Alumni Board.
She serves on the Board of Directors for South Coastal Counties Legal Services and
the Justice Center of Southeast Massachusetts which provides pro bono legal services
to disadvantaged individuals. Attorney Boston also serves on the Board of Directors
for Boston's Bridge to Excellence, an organization committed to providing high risk
youths with mentorship and promotes academic excellence, personal development and
civic engagement. She is also an active volunteer for the Attorney for the Day Program
at the Metro South and Southeast Housing Courts.
Attorney Boston is the Treasurer for Massachusetts Black Women Attorneys, Life Member
of Massachusetts Black Lawyers' Association and Chair of the Lawyer Referral Service
Committee of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Attorney Boston has received numerous
awards and accolades including, but not limited to, Massachusetts Lawyer's Weekly
Top Women in the Law, First Justices' Award for Pro Bono Publico Excellence, National
Bar Association Women Lawyer's Division Outstanding Woman Lawyer in a Solo/Small Firm,
National Bar Association Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 Nation's best Advocates, The National
Black Attorneys Top 100 Lawyers and Top 40 Under 40, and the National Academy of Personal
Injury Attorneys Top 10 Under 40.
Susan Fetten Connors '85/J.D. '88
Susan Connors is a 1985 graduate of Seton Hall University where she received a B.A. majoring in political science. She served on the University Senate and Student Assembly while an undergraduate, participating in policy decision-making with administration and faculty. She was a four-year member of the women's volleyball and fencing teams. Upon graduation, Susan attended Seton Hall Law School, serving as a moot court director and a child advocacy volunteer within the Essex County court system.
After completing her studies, Susan clerked for the Honorable Frederick C. Kentz in the Chancery Division of Superior Court, Union County, before commencing a 25-year career in private practice. She is currently a partner at Nagel Rice, LLP, in Roseland, New Jersey, specializing in medical malpractice and general civil litigation. From 2006-2012, Susan volunteered as an assistant girl's lacrosse coach at Chatham High School. She served as an undergraduate admissions counselor at Seton Hall University in 2012-2013.
Professionally, Susan has been designated by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney and is a member of the Medical Malpractice Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. She has served as a lecturer on recent developments in medical malpractice at the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education's Annual Tort Law Conference. Her professional associations seek to advance the career aspirations of young women in the legal profession as a member of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association, New Jersey Association for Justice and Trial Attorneys of New Jersey.
Susan's affiliation with Seton Hall runs in the family: her five brothers and sister also attended Seton Hall University, she met her husband Richard, J.D. '88, during the first week of 1L classes at Seton Hall Law School, and they married in 1990. They currently reside in Chatham where they have lived since 1995, and have two adult sons, Richard (Trip), J.D. '23, and Sean.
John Fanta '17
John Fanta is currently a commentator, host and reporter with FOX Sports and the BIG
EAST Digital Network. He has covered a wide variety of events as the voice of the
BIG EAST Conference since 2017, from the conference's legendary tournament at Madison
Square Garden to multiple NCAA Tournament Final Fours. A 2017 Seton Hall School of
Communication and the Arts graduate, Fanta earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism.
While at The Hall, Fanta, a native of Cleveland, OH, felt truly at home and made his
mark in coverage of Pirate Athletics. As the voice of the Pirate Sports Network, a
fixture on 89.5 FM WSOU and a contributor to The Setonian and Pirate Television, Fanta
was seen and heard covering Seton Hall sports teams and traveled over half the country
covering teams throughout his four years. Because of his work, he became the first
non-student athlete to receive the Seton Hall Most Valuable Pirate Award, typically
given to a student-athlete who had gone above and beyond in their respective sport.
Today, Fanta calls Hoboken, NJ home. He can still be seen at Seton Hall Basketball
games covering the latest across BIG EAST Hoops and The Hall. His work has also been
seen on ESPN's family of networks, NBA TV and more.
Dr. Charles Farmer '12
Dr. Charles Farmer is an Emergency Medicine attending physician at University Hospital
in Newark, NJ. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he is actively involved
in medical student and resident education. He graduated from Seton Hall in 2012 with
a Bachelor of Science in Biology. While at Seton Hall, he was a member of the Martin
Luther King Jr. Scholarship Association and served as a Resident Assistant. After
graduation, he attended The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and obtained
his M.D. in 2016. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at New York University
in 2020. He recently moved back to his hometown of Colonia where he lives with his
wife, Delores Sarfo-Darko '13, Ed.D.
Dalai Fazio, M.A. '06
Dalai Fazio, is a Senior Manager and Global Client Relationship Executive with Deloitte.
He is a leader in its multilateral finance and development banking practice, supporting
projects and teams in over 40 countries. His portfolio includes international financial
audit and advisory services, as well as fit-for-purpose energy, infrastructure, and
digital development projects in emerging markets. Before joining Deloitte in 2010,
Dalai started his career with the United Nations Secretariat in New York. His work
focused on advocacy programs that sought to prevent future intra-state and ethnic
conflicts, as well as helping publish the UN Chronicle. He holds an additional M.B.A.
in global strategy and a B.A. in political science from Rutgers University. Previously,
he was the President of the School of Diplomacy and International Relations' alumni
board from 2019-2021. Dalai lives in New Jersey with his wife and four children.
Bill Furmanski '90
Bill Furmanski leads communications at the nonprofit Fair Labor Association, an initiative
that brings together global apparel and agriculture companies, universities, and civil
society organizations to protect factory and farm workers. For nearly two decades,
Bill worked in public health communications, leading media relations, editorial strategy,
and strategic partnerships to prevent teen smoking and help adults quit smoking. Bill
played a lead role in the launch of several national anti-tobacco marketing campaigns,
including the award-winning truth teen tobacco prevention campaign. At the American
Cancer Society, he coordinated advocacy communications for a national tobacco cessation
policy project. Bill began his nonprofit career at a national association of consumer
credit counseling agencies, managing public relations and marketing to promote personal
financial literacy to help families budget and use credit wisely.
Richard Gill '92
Richard is a 1992 graduate of Seton Hall's Stillman School of Business and started his career in accounting in NY/NJ. After earning a graduate degree at Indiana University, he moved to Chicago and was an investment banker, consultant, and risk manager. Currently, he consults for CFO's and CRO's on various capital, treasury, transformative, and regulatory initiatives. Richard is a proud father of two teenage boys and along with his wife, Song, resides in Chicago (so let him know when you come to Wrigley!).
Erin Miu '11
Erin is a recent MBA graduate of Syracuse's Whitman School of Management and has been
an accountant at her family's firm, Miu & Company, for over eight years. Miu consults
with business and individual clients primarily in tax and financial planning. Prior
to that, she has experience in the fashion industry, as she managed global designer,
Vivienne Tam's, flagship boutique and helped host events and fashion shows during
New York's biannual Fashion Week event. A 2011 graduate of Stillman, she holds a B.S.
in Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and a minor in French. In her
spare time, she enjoys traveling, watching Formula 1 racing, lifting, and is currently
pursuing an M.S. in Accounting at Syracuse University.
Andrea Moten '88/M.B.A. '93
Andrea Moten is a retired Human Resources professional with more than 35 years of experience. In 2020, she retired from Princeton University and her management role at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory after 25 years of service. During her tenure at the Laboratory, Andrea directed and performed numerous HR functions including talent acquisition, training and development, employee and labor relations, and diversity, equity inclusion and accessibility. Most recently, she joined Parker Health Group, a not-for-profit, New Jersey based aging organization committed to empowering older Americans. At Parker, she provides and leverages her expertise as a Human Resources Business Partner.
Andrea is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the nation's first Black sorority founded at Howard University in 1908. She has been an active member for over 40 years and has been elected or appointed to positions serving the local, regional, and international levels of the organization. Additionally, she currently serves as a member of the Diaconate at First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens in Somerset, NJ where she previously participated in other ministries.
Andrea attended the Stillman School of Business where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Computer Science and a Masters in Business Administration, with a concentration in Management. She resides in Somerset, NJ with her husband Greg.
Leah Murphy '12
Leah graduated from Seton Hall in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and
a minor in Communications, and from Notre Dame of Maryland in 2015 with a Master of
Arts degree in Contemporary Communications. During her time at Seton Hall, Leah was
a four-year member of the cheerleading team, a member of the Italian Club, and participated
in numerous service events. She is currently the Associate Director of Alumni Relations
at Johns Hopkins University, where she plans and executes alumni events in 15+ cities
across the country. In her free time, Leah serves as a wedding coordinator at St.
Mary's Seminary & University and privately for local couples. She lives in the suburbs
of Baltimore with her husband, Kieran '11, and son, Keegan.
Joe Nuss '84/M.A. '93
Joe earned a B.S. in Business Administration (Computer Science) in 1984, and an M.A.
in Elementary Education with Teacher Certification in 1993. Born and raised in Woodbridge,
NJ, Nuss has resided in Omaha, NE with his wife, Suzanne (M.S. ‘88), for the past
26 years. Their son, Josh, continued the legacy and graduated from Seton Hall in 2016.
Nuss retired from the teaching profession in 2019 after 24 years of teaching sixth
grade for the Omaha Public Schools. He is active as a substitute teacher, tax preparer,
and educational consultant for an Omaha tech company. He and his wife, Sue, are enthusiastic
supporters of the University and established a nursing scholarship in 2021.

Vina (Tailor) Reddy '17
Vina Reddy is an Associate at BlackRock on the COO team in US Wealth Advisory. She specifically serves Sales Practices and Operations. In this role, she focuses on business process, policy, risk management, controls, business and expense management, and other strategic initiatives. Vina joined BlackRock through the 2017 Graduate Analyst Class after a summer internship. She has completed a number of rotations in the Global Finance Group before joining the USWA business.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Vina interned at Verizon and Arthur J. Gallagher in Human Resources Talent Acquisition and Insurance Sales Marketing. These internships all occurred during the summer of her time at Seton Hall University. During her four years at Seton Hall, Vina was named the Buccino Scholar for the Class of 2017, in the Buccino Leadership Program, and Alpha Phi amongst many other activities and scholarship recipient awards. Vina graduated from Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University with a degree in Finance and Marketing as well as certificates in Business Information Technology and Supply Chain Management.
She proudly serves on the Seton Hall Leadership Advisory Council and is the Diversity Equity Inclusion Offer for the Alpha Phi chapter on campus. Vina met her husband, Vinn Reddy, at Seton Hall University and they now reside in Montville, New Jersey with their dog.
Christina Riso '04/ J.D. '08
Christina Riso, JD currently serves as the Assistant Vice President for University
Advancement at Gwynedd Mercy University in Gwynedd Valley, PA. In this role, Christina
serves the chief operating officer and strategist for University Advancement, overseeing
the annual giving, alumni engagement, advancement services and prospect research and
development teams as well as the planned giving program. As a senior leader, Christina
oversees University Advancement's talent and organizational management, cross-campus
partnerships, and strategic planning to maximize philanthropic support for GMercyU's
upcoming comprehensive campaign that celebrates the University's 75th Anniversary.
A seasoned fundraiser, Christina maintains a select portfolio of major and planned
gift donors and prospects.
Prior to joining GMercyU, Christina served as the Senior Director of Capital Projects and Gift Planning at The Pennington School where she managed the school's major gift and planned giving programs and as the Director of Alumni Engagement at Delaware Valley University, overseeing the University's alumni relations programs. Christina has also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for the President of The College of New Jersey, serving at the President's liaison to college advancement and overseeing strategic management of presidential initiatives and operations. Earlier in her career, Christina served as the Program Coordinator for the Office of Parent Outreach and Development at the University of Pennsylvania, assisting with the development and execution of a comprehensive engagement and communications strategy for Penn's 10,000+ undergraduate parents aimed at securing philanthropic resources for The Parents Fund.
Christina earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.S. in
Business Administration majoring in Sports Management from Seton Hall University.
Christina also earned a M.S. in Higher Education from the University of Pennsylvania.
Christina has volunteered as a SHU regional ambassador and a SHARP volunteer. She
is actively engaged with the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education,
serving in various leadership roles for its District II annual conference.
A first-generation college student and a native of North Jersey, Christina currently resides in Bucks County, PA with her husband, Andrew Riso, Esq., L ‘07, a fellow Seton Hall Law alum, and her two children.
Philip Sanford '05
Philip Sanford is a 2005 graduate of Seton Hall University, majoring in finance with
a minor in communication. He has been an Alumni Ambassador since graduating, organizing
alumni events and engaging with potential students in Ohio through 2008 and in North
Carolina for the past 12 years. Philip was awarded the Alumni Impact Award at the
2015 Many Are One gala. Professionally, Philip has worked in benefits administration
and human resource management for ADP since Sept. 2008 after working for independent
financial advisors for three years.
Outside of work, he has capitalized on his love for running and community building. A certified coach with the Road Runners Club of America, Philip is on the board of directors for the Charlotte Running Club, coaches grade school boys in the Let Me Run program, helps lead the largest organized weekly run club in Charlotte, and is the event director for the Get Your Rear In Gear 5k in Charlotte. His sister, Rachel, is a 2007 graduate of Seton Hall University and former member of the Seton Hall Board of Regents. Philip is married to Jessica Lackey and they live in Charlotte with their dog and cat.
Vincent Santore '17
Vincent is a systems engineer, data scientist, and researcher at Lockheed Martin Rotary
and Mission Systems, continuing his tenure from his undergraduate internships. With
multiple peer-reviewed papers in the field of data analytics, he continues to find
new ways to leverage data for the greater good. As a student at Seton Hall, he was
a proud member of the University's Honors Program while obtaining both a B.S. in Business
IT Management and a B.A. in Catholic Studies. Shortly after graduation, he became
the founder and CEO of The Burr Project, a non-partisan political data analytics organization.
He additionally holds an M.S. in Data Analytics from Rowan University. Currently,
he continues his education at Ball State University for his M.B.A. in IT leadership
while residing in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Cheryl Stallings, M.B.A. '20
Cheryl Stallings is the Associate Vice President of Content for the National Basketball
Association (NBA), with global responsibility for overseeing digital and sports content
for development, production and programming in international markets. She recently
returned from five years abroad in India and Asia, where she directs the NBA Global
team and collaborates with television and digital partners in both regions to evaluate,
filter and recommend region-specific, innovative and locally relevant content to engage
audiences. Now, after building, developing and transitioning remarkably high-performing
teams in Asia and India, she is uniquely able to effectively distance-lead from NBA's
headquarters in New Jersey. Cheryl also lends her considerable international expertise
to offer strategic advice and guidance to colleagues for global NBA regions including
Mexico, Brazil, Africa, Latin America and China.
Known for her extraordinary ability to forge and steward relationships with NBA leadership, domestic and international partners, high-profile players, influencers, celebrities and various other internal and external stakeholders, Cheryl inaugurates ground-breaking games and programming, develops innovative initiatives and serves as Subject Matter Committee on topics including social justice and DEI.
A Brooklyn, New York native, Cheryl holds an M.B.A. in Sports Management, Interdisciplinary Business and a BA in Mass & Media Communications. In her spare time, she enjoys excellent books, intriguing travel and volunteering for causes that matter.
Sam Stoia '86
Born and raised in Newark, NJ, Sam attended Seton Hall Prep, then Seton Hall University
where he earned his B.S. in Business Administration, with a major in Accounting. After
college he worked in public accounting for approximately four years before starting
law school at Ohio Northern University. Upon graduating from law school, Sam clerked
for the now retired Hon. Robert L. Penza, J.S.C. of the Superior Court of New Jersey.
After working in a business litigation firm in New York City for several years, in 1999, he went to work at West, a Thomson Reuters Business, selling software to large international law firms headquartered in New York City. In 2012 he started his own law practice concentrating on litigation, largely family law matters.
As a resident of Jersey City, NJ he was the president of the Hamilton Park Neighborhood Association, and in that capacity led the renovation of historic Hamilton Park. He also began the Seton Hall Prep Alumni Networking breakfast. Sam is presently on the board of the Griffin Bridges Foundation of Seton Hall Prep, which provides scholarship for academically qualified inner-city students.
Jennifer Taboada '05
Jennifer Taboada, Wealth Education Specialist, is a member of BlackRock's Advisor
Insights team and has been in the financial services industry for over 15 years. She
has deep experience creating and presenting educational programs on financial planning
topics focused on educating, inspiring and motivating audiences to change their behaviors.
Currently, she leads the Social Security Consulting team and serves as a national
specialist on financial planning topics including Social Security, behavioral finance,
women & investing, changing client demographics and financial literacy.
Jen is an active member of BlackRock's Women's Initiative Network and believes that
engaging and fostering the full potential of women is key to financial planning success.
Her service dates back to 2007, including time spent as an Investment Management Associate
covering Independent financial professionals in Georgia and Alabama.
Jen was raised in Ocean Township, NJ where she now lives with her husband Michael and daughter Isabella. She attended Seton Hall University where she received a BS in International Economics and a BA in Modern Languages with a specialization in Spanish and Italian. Jen is an active member on the Alumni Board of Directors at Seton Hall University.
Kyle D. Warren '04/M.A.E. '07/Ph.D. '20
Dr. Kyle D. Warren is the senior vice dean for the School of Nursing at Rutgers University.
In that role, he serves as the dean of students and as the dean of administration.
Dr. Warren has worked in higher education administration and student affairs throughout
his entire career at institutions including Seton Hall University where he worked
in various roles within Student Affairs. A forever pirate, Dr. Warren completed all
of his formal education at Seton Hall University to include a Ph.D. in education leadership,
management, and policy; a master's degree in higher education and student affairs;
and a bachelor's degree in public relations and advertising. In addition, he completed
the Management Development Program within the School of Education at Harvard University.
Dr. Warren is a resident of Bloomfield, NJ.
Carolyn M. Welsh '93
Carolyn M. Welsh is President and CEO of NJ Sharing Network, the federally designated nonprofit organization responsible for the recovery of donated organs and tissue in the Garden State. Throughout her 24-year tenure with the organization, Carolyn has worked with NJ Sharing Network employees, local hospital and community partners, and hundreds of volunteers to consistently achieve record growth in lives saved and enhanced through organ and tissue donation and transplantation. In 2022, Carolyn was recognized by NJBIZ on its prestigious list of New Jersey's Best 50 Women in Business.
In addition to Carolyn's role at NJ Sharing Network, she serves on the Board of Directors of Caucus Educational Corporation (CEC) and Eversight. She is also a founding member of the Association of Organ Procurement Organization's (AOPO) IMPACT Committee. Carolyn previously served on AOPO's Chief Operating Officer's Council and was a member of the United Network for Organ Sharing's (UNOS) OPTN OPO Committee.
Prior to joining NJ Sharing Network, Carolyn worked in the Medicare division at United Healthcare, where she was responsible for building and maintaining relationships with hospital executives and medical staff.
Carolyn earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Seton Hall University and a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership and Nonprofit Management from North Central University. She resides in Colts Neck, NJ with her husband, Tom, and their sons, Scott and Kyle.
Mary Williams '89
Mary (Christiano) Williams graduated from Seton Hall in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science
degree in mathematics and minor in computer science. She is now retired after a 33
year career as a computer programmer/analyst first at IBM and then at Lincoln Investment.
While working at Lincoln she attained a FINRA Series 6 License.
Mary met her husband Greg on their second day of freshman year at Seton Hall. They began volunteering in 2006 with the Seton Hall Alumni Recruitment Program (SHARP). Since then Mary has enjoyed meeting prospective Pirates at numerous open houses, college fairs and recruitment events.
In 2014, Mary and Greg were honored to receive the Alumni Impact Award at the Many Are One Alumni Award Gala. They have established The Williams & Christiano Memorial Endowed Scholarship to assist students who plan to study mathematics, computer science or business. Mary enjoys volunteering with the St. Vincent de Paul Conference at her parish. She is a founding member of the conference and has served as the President and Treasurer. Mary and Greg live in Bordentown, NJ where they are happy to be close to family, friends, Seton Hall and the Jersey shore.
