Make a Gift in Honor of Monsignor Sheeran

Thank you for making a gift in honor of Monsignor Sheeran, whose fifteen-year tenure as president (1995-2010) was marked by creative vision, untiring energy and unwavering commitment to the needs, goals and the future of the students.

Monsignor Robert Sheeran ‘67Monsignor Sheeran's efforts literally changed the face of the University; just a walk across campus will attest to that.  He raised its academic profile to greater national prominence and directed wide-ranging changes in all aspects of University life.  As importantly, he provided strong and compassionate leadership as the Pirate community faced incredible challenges after the tragic Boland Hall fire.

To recognize his many years of service to Seton Hall, the Board of Regents, with the approval of Joseph Cardinal Tobin, the archbishop of Newark, has agreed to dedicate the new Welcome Center, now officially called, Bethany Hall, in his honor.  Clearly, there could be no better tribute to him than this, for the center will provide not only a warm and welcoming first impression for visitors to campus (as he would do himself) but also, a multi-purpose space for campus events that will continually bring our Seton Hall community together, which was always his desire.
