Support Student Scholarships

Graduate Student Fellowships
Keeping our graduate program strong requires recruiting a high-caliber graduate student body. Improving the availability of generous graduate fellowships helps the School of Diplomacy compete with other international affairs schools for the world’s best students. Strengthening our ability to support incoming graduate students keeps the School of Diplomacy competitive.

Internship Travel Stipends
Integral to the School of Diplomacy’s curriculum is its required for-credit internship. The School’s Office of Internships and Career Development assists students to pursue prestigious internships in their field of interest. A stipend lessens the burden of living expenses associated with travel to an unpaid semester internship across the country and around the globe at organizations including the U.S. State Department, the United Nations and Supreme Court.

Study Abroad Scholarships
The School of Diplomacy hosts unique study abroad seminars for students, in which the theory and practice of diplomacy converge. During each three credit course, students are immersed in political, social, economic and cultural issues of the region and its key institutions. Students are received by dignitaries and high-ranking national and multilateral officials at every destination. Seminars have been conducted in China, Ethiopia, Kosovo, Cyprus, Portugal, Italy, and France among other places and have addressed topics including the African Union, Security, Post-Conflict Reconstruction, the European Union, Emerging Markets and more. Scholarships give a student an opportunity to travel abroad to study international relations first-hand and apply practical experience to classroom learning.

The Nivah Odwori Memorial Scholarship
School of Diplomacy alumna Nivah Odwori, M.A. '06, tragically lost her life in the January 12, 2010 Haiti earthquake while serving as a district coordinator with the U.N. Stabilization Mission. Inspired by Nivah's life of service, alumni and friends of the School of Diplomacy created the Nivah Odwori Memorial Scholarship in her memory. This scholarship supports the educational pursuits of future School of Diplomacy students who strive to emulate Nivah's example of servant leadership in a global society.
