St. Patrick's Day Parade


Seton Hall Alumni Relations and Pirates of Irish Persuasion & Extraction (PIPE) invite you to join us in marching in the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade. Alumni, students, staff, family and friends are invited to join us at Seton Hall University for a bus ride to and from New York City. Bus will depart from campus at 10:45 a.m.

Schedule of the Day

9:30 a.m. - Mass
Chapel of the Immaculate Conception, Seton Hall University

10:15 a.m. - Flag Raising
University Center, Seton Hall University

10:45 a.m. - Check-In/Bus Departure from Seton Hall to New York City
Athletic Center, Seton Hall University

1 p.m. - Registrants not taking the bus from Seton Hall will meet at parade step-off point (area of West 46th Street)

Registration is required by Friday, March 9, 2018.

Monday, March 19: “Assimilation and Identity in the Irish Immigrant Experience,” presented by Fr. Augustine Curley
3:00 p.m.—Irish Studies Discussion Series Lecture and Q&A—Theatre-in-the-Round, University Center
Fr. Augustine Curley, O.S.B., is a Seton Hall University alumnus and the Prior, Abbey Librarian, and Archivist of Newark Abbey. Having earned his Ph.D. at Boston College, Fr. Augustine is a noteworthy scholar of the Irish immigrant experience and of the history of Catholicism in New Jersey.
Light refreshments will be served. This event is free of charge and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required but is requested.

Wednesday, March 21: Evening of Irish Songs and Recitations, orchestrated by Dr. James McGlone
7:30 p.m.—A Celebration of Irish Cultural Heritage, presented by the talented performers of the Celtic Theatre Company—Theatre-in-the-Round, University Center
Light refreshments will be served. This event is free of charge and open to the public. Pre-registration is not required but is requested.

Friday, April 20: Irish Mass and Dinner
The Pirates of Irish Persuasion & Extraction (PIPE) Alumni Club presents the 8th Annual Irish Language Mass and Dinner. Join fellow alumni and friends for Mass, parts of which will be said in Irish, and parts in English. The musical selections for the Mass will include Irish-inspired hymns. Following Mass, join us for an Irish-themed dinner. Catered by Town Hall Deli, the meal will include classic green salad, special homemade salads, hot corned beef, boiled potatoes and carrots, Town Hall’s famous Sloppy Joes, soft drinks, coffee and tea, and a variety of desserts. The evening will feature Irish entertainment, and all dinner attendees will be eligible to win fabulous door prizes. Join us for this celebration of Irish heritage and Catholic faith!
